Maggie Gibbs' Profile

Daisy Dumpling ~ Maggie Gibbs

I started my business back in 2000, making greetings cards, notelets and covered notebooks. Each year I would bring in a new idea and in 2006 a read a book that sparked my interest in knitting and crocheting again. After several weeks of tweaking, I came up with my own design of baby shoes and bootees and started to make them in wool yarns. These proved very popular with customers and I was asked if I’d considered using organic and natural yarns which is all I use now for this range.

I attended a baby trade show in 2007 and came away with lots of orders from retailers and so the snowball had started to grow! I now supply around 20 retailers with my range of baby items as well as still selling them at craft shows around the country.

Another avenue I have explored which has been very successful so far is ladies accessories. I supply about 10 retailers so far with this range as well as attending craft and design shows selling all of my range. These include ladies scarves, fingerless gloves, collars and crocheted jewellery. My imagination is never still and am always coming up with new items to add to the collection.

I hope you like my designs and I’m always open to suggestions if an item is not quite what you wanted.
