Truly lovely packs of giftwrap and matching tags in a variety of designs. This hand made paper comes from Nepal and is made out of Lokta a local shrub. Our Gift Wrap is carefully made by skilled artisans in the Kathmandu valley. Because of the handmade nature of this gift wrap every sheet is individual. All sheets measure approx 75cm (29½") x 50cm (19¾"). We have been wanting to stock this for ages, in between receiving our shipment and listing it nearly a third of our shipment has gone to friends, family and at local craft fairs! It seems a lot of people are using this paper for personal gifts and to cover books with!
Lokta paper is made from the bark of the Lokta or Daphne papyracea plant Lokta grows in the Himalayas at altitudes in excess of 6500ft and is abundant in supply. Harvesting lokta helps preserve the fragile eco system in Nepal and gives regular fairly paid work to the people of the many mountain villages. Our Gift Wrap is carefully made by skilled artisans in the Kathmandu valley. Because of the handmade nature of this gift wrap every sheet is individual. All sheets measure approx 75 x 50cm
