INDIAN HERITAGE™
"Indian Maiden and Wolf" by Howard Robinson, Gouache, 30" x 20"
As one of England's leading illustrators, Howard Robinson is well regarded in both academic and commercial circles. On the one hand, he has lectured in Natural History Illustration at both Sunderland University and New College-Durham. On the other hand, his work is published worldwide on a variety of products including T-shirts, puzzles, mugs, stationery, fine china and book jackets. Perhaps it is not so surprising that this artist has met with such diverse success - although he works in a highly realistic style, Howard's careful choice of subject matter and warm sense of interpretation have helped lend his images to commercial applications. In 1985 his achievements were recognized with the Best Design Award from the U.K. Greeting Card and Calendar Council. Howard lives and works in his native county of Durham in northeastern England, enjoying the open countryside with his wife and two children. |
